My Baby Shih Tzu's Addiction to KangKong

Fiona my Shih Tzu is turning one year old on May 9, 2010. she now weighs 5 kilos and 3/4 kilograms according to her doctor. Whenever we go and visit the doctor, He always hear the same question from me "Doc, is my shih tzu already obese?"
And he keeps answering me the same question
"No, She is not! I'll let you know when she is"

My shih tzu Fiona eats more than 3 times a day. I know its wrong but whenever she ask for food, I cant help but give her what she wants because we simply cant refuse her charm.

Her Favorite food is Kangkong ( swamp cabbage or water spinach)
Whenever we see her eating Kangkong, We know it makes her happy and satisfied and will later on show great affection to us, as if she's thanking us for giving her, her favorite meal.

When i ask our Vet about her addiction to Kangkong. He told us that we should slow down on giving her so much Fiber because it may irritate her, and we should observe her poop whenever our shih tzu eats Kangkong.
After almost a year of giving our shihtzu dog Kangkong.
Nothing is wrong with her poop and she still feels happy about her favorite meal.

She loves vegetable, Weird! isn't? but its so true. I also tried to give her dog playmates vegetable but they don't like it. They like meat, all of them. Weird ( Maybe my dog shih tzu is half dog and half goat) :)

The only meat our dog wants is her Treats from Pedigree the Bacon Strips (I wonder why it's not available anymore in SM? I have looked everywhere already including Robinsons and Shangri la, so if anyone knows, where i can purchase Bacon Strips, Please let me know)

Another weird thing about her is SHE LOVES EATING APPLES. Weird? Yeah so WEIRD!
The only thing I'm sure about her is She's not a monkey, because She doesn't eat Banana

Her dog food is Vitality Lamb and Beef, She tried Eukanuba before but whenever she poops after eating Eukanuba she eats her own poop. So weird!

The Reasons Why I Love my Shih Tzu so much and why I recommend you to get one...

The Reasons Why I Love my Shih Tzu so much and why I recommend you to get one...

I have never seen a dog so charming and loving like the one that I have. She just continues to give us joy every single day!

1. She's like a barbie :) I bathe her, blower and brushes her hair and experiment on different hairstyles. She is the best toy i have ever had. You get to decide her looks. She can be bald or a darling shih tzu with a crown or pins on her hair.

2. She's very loyal. She knows who her master is

3. Unlike other dogs, She doesn't bark. Well, actually she does, after all she is still a dog so yes! she still barks, but only if shes afraid, or feels jealous haha :)) She's like a baby.

4. She's a great company. She just walks where you walk. My shih tzu is very very smart. She goes with us everywhere without a leash, And most of the time we actually here people saying things like "Her dog is so amazing, unbelievable"

5. A Shih tzu is a lot better than a baby. We hear that a lot! especially when we walk around in malls and parks like Tiendesitas,  A mother would say to her children "Look at her shih tzu dog she's more behave than you"

6. She's small and not big. She is just right for a pet. Not that small that u can carry her with just one hand. She's just right to give u a hug when you need one. Not that big that people can get scared, She is just right to fit in my bag so i can bring her wherever i want to go.

7. Shih Tzu dogs are very intelligent. They easily learned the basics like following the commands "up" "down" "sit" "shake hands" "fetch" "quiet" "eat"

8. She's not expensive. We bought her for the price of P10,000 and she eats whatever i eat.

She is the best dog you can ever have...

My Shih Tzu FIONA's baptism (pet blessing) at eastwood

I was psyched when i found out that there is actually a thing called "Pet Blessing" and it does happen annually. I find it weird but i know my shih tzu Fiona will definitely have fun there and of course i should take advantage of the freebies and their guest stars such as the UP MADRIGAL CHOIR, and THE COMPANY, my all time favorite singers plus it will also be my first time to see the brand new mall EASTWOOD MALL which is the only mall that allows pet inside.

Before we even go to the pet blessing, We have to groom our little shih tzu ofcourse which we have to schedule 3 hours before the start of the event because her grooming including her blower takes about 2 hours. my Shih Tzu spends more time at the Salon than i actually do, We always bring her to Under The Sea Pet grooming center at Sm North 2nd Floor in front of St. Paul which actually cost P650 for the full grooming.

Here are some of the pictures during the Pet Blessing:

The stage :)

falling in line for the registration where we will get our bag of freebies :) and while we were there one of the organizers ask our shih tzu's name so she can add her name to the candidates for the "star pet of the day" :) I was so Happy and proud of our little baby shih tzu girl!

After the mass! The start of the baptism of the pets began :) Fiona was scared of the holy water haha :)) I almost forgot dogs hates shower :))

Our Shih Tzu's godparents :) "The Company" before their mini concert at the stage, they saw our little shihtzu and asked some stuff about her and they said shes so adorable :)

While waiting for the program to start, Our Shih Tzu took her nap

Having a dog is very exciting, especially if you know how to train them the right way

Having a dog is very exciting, especially if you know how to train them the right way...

Training our adorable shih tzu is the best part of having them, especially the FEELING when you teach them a certain trick for more than 2 hours and they finally learned how to do it. Seeing them for the first time doing alone the trick you just taught them is an amazing feeling. I SWEAR! I remember the first trick I taught Fiona was how to shake her hands. I was about to give up when she finally did it. I still remember the feeling, that I feel like I'm really her master, I made sure that everyone knew her talent the next day including our neighbors...

Here is the site where I learned how to train my shih tzu  with breed-specific care guides at MyDogbreed.com. Browse guides to breed selection, dog training, health, picture galleries, and more.
